Many people in Ramadan suffer from the rumen problem, which usually occurs as a result of wrong eating habits that they follow during this month.

What is the cause of the problem of rumen and how can it be avoided?

The reason for the emergence of rumen in Ramadan
According to medical reports, with the fasting person refraining from eating foods and drinks during the fasting period, his body stores carbohydrates in the liver and muscles as a means to provide energy, after consuming all the calories he obtained from breakfast and sahur.

Because most people in Ramadan increase their intake of foods and drinks that increase the average calories that enter their bodies, this causes the storage of fats, especially in the abdominal and buttocks regions, and rumen appears.

How to avoid the appearance of rumen in Ramadan?

A number of doctors and nutritionists gave their advice to the fasting people in Ramadan to get rid of the rumen, as follows:

Sugary, fried, and saturated fats should be avoided as well as those that contain simple carbohydrates and preservatives, as well as sugary drinks. It is important to maintain physical activity during Ramadan, such as walking on a daily basis during the fasting period, and performing some exercise 30 minutes after iftar.

Be sure to eat healthy nutritional foods between iftar and suhoor, such as fresh fruits and vegetables. It is necessary to drink enough water daily, as experts advise to drink at least 8 cups of water after iftar and before suhoor, to maintain body moisture. The suhoor meal should be healthy and contain complex carbohydrates and lean proteins.
